Three Found Dead In Bhaderwah Guest House; SIT Formed To Investigate

JAMMU, Jan 2: Three men were found dead under mysterious circumstances in a guest house in Bhaderwah, officials said.
They identified the deceased as Ashutosh Rana, son of Dilip Singh, from Bhella, Doda, currently residing in Purkhoo, Jammu; Mukesh Singh, son of Kuldeep Singh, from Domana, Jammu; and Sunny Choudhary, son of Subash Choudhary, from Bhawani, Nowshara, also residing in Purkhoo, Jammu.
According to them, the incident came to light on January 1, 2025 when the staff of Royal Inn Guest House opposite Maruti Showroom Bhaderwah reported that the trio was not responding to repeated knocks on the door or calls from family members.
Acting swiftly, a police team led by SHO Bhaderwah arrived at the scene and broke open the door, finding all three men lying unconscious, officials further said.
A forensic science team and medical team from SDH Bhaderwah were immediately called to the spot. However, the medical team declared all three dead on arrival, they added.
Officials said, later, senior officials, including SSP Doda, other police officers, and EMIC Bhaderwah, also examined the scene along with forensic experts to ensure a detailed investigation.
In light of the seriousness of the situation, they said, SSP Doda has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by Additional SP Bhaderwah, comprising professional police officers, to determine the exact cause of death and rule out any foul play.
Additionally, a medical board has been constituted to conduct autopsies of the deceased.
Meanwhile, inquest proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC have been initiated to ascertain the exact cause of the deaths.
