Srinagar, Feb 2: Three persons were arrested by police over the extortion charges in Ajas area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district today.
Police said three extortionists were arrested after they received an information about the three persons threatening the local residents in the area.
“A police team was immediately deputed to the spot and arrested the trio in suspicious circumstances”, police said.
The three extortionists have been identified as Adil Iqbal of Kensu Bandipora, Javid Naseer Khan of Handwara and Nisar Khan of Rafiabad and all of them are in police custody.
A pistol, one magazine and 8 rounds were recovered from the extortionists.
