JAMMU, Dec 26: Hiranagar and Nagrota police arrested three drug peddlers along with poppy straw and heroin.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Hiranagar during patrolling on NH near Baneda intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 3 kilograms poppy straw from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Liyakat Ali, son of Jumal Din of Chann Morian, Tehsil Hiranagar, District Kathua.
A case under FIR Number 133/19 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Hiranagar Police Station and investigation started.
The arrest was made under the supervision of SDPO Border Chadwal Ravinder Singh.
Meanwhile, a team from Nagrota Police Station led by SHO Shoket Hussain under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma laid a naka and intercepted a car bearing registration number JK20A-3508.
During checking, police team recovered 3 grams heroin from the possession of the driver and his associated and arrested them.
The arrested persons were identified as Pawan Singh, son of Vakil Singh and Amit Kumar, son of Inder Chand, both residents of Tehsil Katra, District Reasi.
A case under FIR Number 472/19 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Nagrota Police Station and investigation started.
