3 drug peddlers arrested

UDHAMPUR, July 12: In separate cases, Police arrested three drug peddlers and recovered heroin like contraband substance from their possession.
Police Team of Police Station Udhampur, led by SHO, Raghuvir Singh while performing patrolling duty at Circular Road, intercepted one suspicious person namely Ajay Kumar alias Aju, son of Ramesh Kumar of Ward number 17, near Santoshi Mata Mandir Udhampur.
Police team recovered 3.10 grams of heroin like contraband substance from the said accused following which he was arrested on the spot. In this regard, a case FIR under NDPS Act has been registered in PS Udhampur for further investigation.
Another drug peddler was apprehended by Police during patrolling duty at Subash Stadium Road. 03.65 grams of heroin like substance was recovered from possession of the accused, identified as Sujat Ahmed alias Kaka, son of Abdul Rashid, resident near CRPF Camp, Jakheni, Udhampur.
Meanwhile, Police Station Majalta also apprehended an alleged drug peddler, namely Gagandeep Singh, son of Bhopinder Singh of Kathiel, Tehsil Majalta, who was found roaming in suspicious manner.
During frisking, 1.28 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession. In this regard, FIR No. 58/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Majalta.
