Expansion of base in J&K to be focus

JAMMU, Aug 25: The centenary celebration of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) which will begin from a grand three day long programme at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi tomorrow will among other things focus on expansion of Sangh outreach in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh UTs besides increasing the number of its Shakhas.

RSS chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat will preside the three-day programme and his main focus will be expansion of Sangh’s base and Shakhas especially in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sources said RSS is also focusing on Kashmir valley, Doda, Poonch, Rajouri and Kishtwar districts of Jammu region to strengthen base of the organisation and take the message of Sangh which is dedicated to national cause to each and every nook and corner of the UT.
The senior functionaries of Sangh from J&K including its Prant Pracharak Mukesh Kumar, senior functionaries, Dr Gautam Mengi, Prant Sanghchalak, Dr Vikrant Seh Prant Sanghchalak, Avtar Krishan Trakroo, Prant Karivah, Surinder Sharma, Seh Prant Karivah and other senior functionaries are attending the function at Delhi, sources said.
Sources said that centenary celebrations in J&K to mark with massive outreach and Sangh will launch door to door campaign. This is aimed at expanding its grassroots presence and strengthen nationalist ideals. The initiative will include Hindu conferences, intellectual meetings, youth programmes and efforts to bring the people in Kashmir valley into mainstream and strengthen national unity and integration.
Sources said the RSS has already launched door to door outreach campaign in Jammu province in this regard. This initiative aims to take the Sangh’s message to every corner of the region, reinforcing its ideology and expanding its grassroots presence. The campaign is a part of broader year-long plan to mark 100 years of the organisation’s establishment.
Sources said, moreover, Sangh will also increase network of its Shakhas in the Jammu province targeting maximum expansion before the centenary celebrations conclude.
Sources said that Sangh will not be limited to urban centres but will now expand to rural and far-flung areas of the Jammu province. During the outreach, Sangh will counter misinformation and bring more people in national mainstream discourse. RSS while stressing on Hindu culture has made it categorical that this culture is not opposed to any other faith but believes in inclusion and not exclusion.
RSS which is holding 678 daily Shakhas in Jammu province , 394 weekly milans and 328 monthly milans, significantly aims to increase its number this year through outreach programme.
The Sangh further has decided to hold training camps to convey its message to different sections of the society also.
The Sangh is also trying to expand the base of its offshoots and social organisations working in the field of education health and other sectors in both the regions of J&K. The organisations have already started their social services in Kashmir and far-flung and hilly reaches of Jammu region in the field of education, health sector and other social sectors through Sewa Bharti, Shiksha Bharti, Sanskar Bharti etc, sources said.
They said that the strategy of Sangh is to bring the people into national mainstream and isolate the separatist and disruptive forces who have destroyed J&K over decades together. The event at Delhi will run three days beginning tomorrow and it will culminate on August 28.
The RSS chief will interact with figures from various sectors of society featuring discussions with influential individuals from 17 different fields including academia, media diplomacy and religion. The diplomats of various countries barring Pakistan, Bangladesh and Turkey have been invited into the programme, sources said.
About other programmes of Sangh in connection with Centenary celebrations from September 5 to 7, Akhil Bharatiya Samanvay Bhaithak (coordination meetings) will be held at Jodhpur, Rajasthan where the Sangh leadership will review organisational work and discuss contemporary national issues.
Sources said the centenary celebrations will culminate on October 2 i.e. Vijay Dashmi and a grand programme will be held at Nagpur in which former President, Ram Nath Kovind will be the chief guest and Dr Mohan Bhagwat will deliver his customary address.
The goal of RSS is to take the nation to the pinnacles of glory through organising the entire society and ensuring protection of dharma, sources said.
