JAMMU, May 5: A 3-day National Certification Basic course on Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety commenced today at Government Medical College, Jammu (GMC-J).
The course is being conducted by Postgraduate Department of Pharmacology GMC Jammu in association with ASCOMS Sidhra Jammu in hybrid mode. Accredited by Delhi Medical Council, the course has been started by Indian Society for Rational Pharmaco-Therapeutics (ISRPT).
Principal and Dean, GMC-J was the chief guest of the inaugural function. Prof and Head Pharmacology Department (GMC-J) Dr Seema Gupta and Director Principal ASCOMS Jammu Dr Pavan Malhotra are organizing chairpersons of the Course.
The eminent National faculty like Secretary Cum Scientific Director IPC, PvPI, IPC, MoHFW, president ISRPT-Dr CD Tripathi and Dr Y K Gupta president, AIIMS Jammu and National Advisor IPC, Dr H S Rehan, New Delhi, and Dr Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal ASCOMS, Dr Bikash Medhi from PGIMER, Dr Sandeep Kaushal, Secretary ISRPT Ludhiana, Dr VM Motgare from Nagpur, Dr V Kalaiselvan (IPC Ghaziabad), Dr Ravneet Kaur (Chandigarh), Dr Gagandeep Kwatra (Ludhiana), Dr Mira Desai Ahmedabad, Dr Mita Nandi and Dr Vivek Ahajua (New Delhi), will convene and conduct the Course.
More than 500 offline and online delegates have registered themselves for participating in the Course. More than 20 faculty of national and International repute will participate and conduct the event from many states. Doctors from every clinical specialty, pharmacologists from various medical colleges and drug regulatory authorities will also participate and make deliberations.
Dr HS Rehan Director Professor and Head Department of Pharmacology, Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi and Prof Dr Vishal Tandon Department of Pharmacology, GMC Jammu are the course directors. Dr Nusrat Kareem Bhat, Dr Sharmindar Kaur and Dr Vivek Mahajan will be conducting series of workshops in the Course.
Dr Ashutosh Gupta, HoD Oncology Deptartment, Dr Vijay Kundal HoD Medicine, Dr Ratnakar Sharma Plastic Surgeon and Dr Rjaiv Gupta HoD PSM were among prominent doctors who participated in the event.
