KATHUA, Apr 5: Concluding three days campaign, the Billawar Zila Andolan conducted meetings at Dharalta and Finter today. At Dharalta, meeting was presided by former Sarpanch, Makesh Kumar which was also addressed by 89 years old former Sarpanch Dya Ram Dharal.
Convener of Andolan, Hari Chand Jalmeria was accompanied by Jatinder Bhadwal, Krishan Singh Jasrotia, Joginder Singh president Kisan Sabha, Raj Kumar.
Speaking on the occasion Jalmeria said that Billawar has been throughout discriminated for creation of district despite fulfilling all requisite criteria. Six tehsils including Billawar, Ramkote, Lohai Malhar, Bani, Mahanpur and Basohli have geographical extent almost 230 x 130+ kilometres. People have to travel to Kathua for district Headquarter.
Tourism, Agriculture, Horticulture remains underdeveloped. Billawar being centrally located is selected for district headquarter by the people of the area fighting under banner of Billawar Zila Andolan.
The people will not more tolerate this discrimination, added Jalmeria. All people volunteered for struggle.
Hari Chand Miyan, Mohd Ashraf, Janakraj Verma, Capt (retd) Uttam Chand also spoke.
At Finter meeting was presided by Jograj Sapolia. Former Sarpanch Bhaddu Sdeh Sapolia, Former Sarpanch, Dher Sham Sapolia, Kamal Kishore, HS Lalotra also spoke. Committees were formed at Dharalta and Finter today.
At the conclusion of first phase of mass campaign, the Andolan Committee decided to hold one day impressive Convention at Mandli very shortly.
