3-day Aghar Jitto Mela from June 27

REASI, May 31: The arrangements for three-day annual Aghar Jitto Mela starting from June 27 were today reviewed by District Development Commissioner Prasanna Ramaswamy.
The meeting was attended by senior functionaries of police, civil administration, Health, PHE, Power and other departments, besides representatives of religious and social organizations.
It was informed that the annual festival would witness different activities to attract devotees and pilgrims from all parts of the State, country and across world.
The Baba Jitto Mandir Development Committee apprised the DDC about all major issues and requirements. They sought additional stairs, mercury lights, provision for better sanitation, dustbins, construction of foot bridge over Aghar Jitto Nalla and other facilities for smooth organisation of the event.
After threadbare discussion, the DDC instructed the concerned officers to take up clearance of drains, repair of stretch from lower Mandir to the site of upper Mandir, maintenance of stairs and ground. The Food Department was asked to ensure ration and other essential commodities, while engineers of PHE and PDD were asked to ensure water and power supply without interruption.
The meeting decided to hold awareness camp cum-exhibition to educate the locals about the schemes being offered by different departments for promotion of rural economy including handicraft, handloom, agriculture and allied farming.
