JAMMU, Apr 13: Canal Road and RS Pura police arrested three persons and recovered large quantity of illicit liquor from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Canal Road Police Post SI Sohan Singh laid a naka and intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 32 quarters of illicit liquor from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Raj Kumar alias Minto, son of Banwari Lal, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, at present Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 51/19 under section 48 (A)/(F) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Nowabad and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from RS Pura Police Station led by SHO Inspector Chanchal Singh and assisted by ASI Ghulam Nabi apprehended two persons identified as Krishan Lal, son of Ami Chand of Ward Number 9, RS Pura and Babu Ram, son of Raj Bali if Uttar Pradesh, at present Chohalla, RS Pura along with 100 quarters of illicit liquor.
A case under FIR Number 55/19 under section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Police Station RS Pura and investigation started.
