2nd tube of 4th Tawi bridge reopened

JAMMU, Nov 10: The traffic on second tube of the 4th Tawi bridge was restored today in Jammu by the Traffic Police authorities.
Official sources said that PW (R&B) Department launched restoration work on war-footing on the approach road of the 4th Tawi bridge hardly a week ago. Today, the second tube of the bridge was reopened for vehicular movement after the filling work on the approach road, damaged during floods, in August was completed. Though the road is still Kucha, but the authorities restored traffic to decongest Jewel Chowk and Canal Road area.

It is pertinent to mention here that Chief Engineer, R&B Jammu- Kathua Zone has claimed to complete this road and a portion of damaged bridge in all respects within one month. Senior officers are closely monitoring progress of work on this project on day to day basis.
