JAMMU, Nov 3: Traffic police today conducted a special drive in city and its outskirts during which it seized 29 mini-buses and challaned 75 other vehicles for violating Motor Vehicles (MV) Act/Rules.
The drive was conducted under the close supervision of SP Traffic, Jammu City to ensure safety measures for school going children, outside the schools viz Jodhamal Public School, Channi Heritage School, Sainik Colony, Carmel Convent School Kunjwani, Guru Gobind HSS Kunjwani, Presentation Convent School Gandhi Nagar, DPS School Residency road, SP Higher Secondary School Kachi Chawani, to check traffic violations committed by mini-buses/buses/omni vans/auto rickshaws engaged for ferrying the school going children.
During the special drive, 29 school buses/mini buses were seized on spot and 75 vehicles were challaned for violating the MV Act/rules.
Further to restrict/stop the entry of tractor/trolleys in the Municipal limits of Jammu City, three tractor/trolleys were also seized during the drive for smooth traffic regulation and management in the city.
