UDHAMPUR, Aug 30: Police today rescued 27 bovine animals that were being smuggled to Kashmir valley in a truck.
The truck, bearing registration number PV10H-5378 was intercepted by Police party, led by SHO Rehambal, Rakesh Singh, during a naka at Flata Chowk on the National Highway, under the jurisdiction of Rehambal Police Station.
During thorough search, the truck was found loaded with 27 bovine animals. Police rescued the animals and seized the truck even as its driver managed to escape from the spot.
In this connection, a case has been registered at Police Station Rehambal.
