27 animals rescued as Police foil two bovine smuggling bids

SAMBA, Dec 4: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) in this district claimed to have foiled two bovine smuggling bids today and rescued 27 animals from the clutches of the smugglers.
A police official said that a party of Police Post Rajpura headed by Incharge Police Post, under the supervision of SHO Ghagwal, foiled an animal smuggling attempt near Madoon Trali area, and rescued 18 animals which were being smuggled by foot from Kathua side towards Samba via border road.
He said police have registered a case FIR number 169/2024 under section 223 BNS and 11 PCA Act at Police Station Ghagwal and started further investigation.
Similarly, another party of Police Post Rakh Amb Talli headed by Incharge Police Post concerned under the supervision of SHO Samba foiled a bovine smuggling attempt near Sadoh area and rescued nine bovines.
A case FIR number 312/2024 under section 223 BNS and 11 PCA Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Samba and further investigation taken up.
