JAMMU, Nov 25: Police seized 26 vehicles, which were found engaged in illegal mining.
As per police sources, during the intervening night of November 24 and 25, teams from Police Station Akhnoor led by SHO Ravi Singh Parihar, Police Post Jourian and Police Post Chowki Choura established nakas in their jurisdcitions and seized 14 vehicles, which were found engaged in illegal mining.
District Mining Officer (DMO) Jammu was also informed for further action.
Meanwhile, 12 tippers engagged in illegal mining were seized in Samba District by a police team led by SDPO Bari Brahmana Mohita Sharma.
Seven tippers were seized near Toll Plaza Sarore, 3 tippers at Naka NHW Balole Bridge, Bari Brahmana and 2 tippers at Naka NHW Rakh Barotian,Vijaypur. These vehicles were transporting construction material illegally without any valid permission.
Later, Geology and Mining Department Samba were informed for further action.
