26 new dengue cases reported

JAMMU, Sept 21: Jammu and Kashmir reported 26 new dengue cases the other day, taking the cumulative tally for the year 2025 to 652.
A total of 284 tests were conducted on Saturday, of which 15 males and 11 females tested positive. Among the new cases, one was child under 18 years, while 25 were adults.
District-wise, Kathua continued to report the highest number with 12 fresh cases, raising its total to 194. Jammu followed with 9 new cases and a cumulative tally of 231. Udhampur reported 2 new infections, Rajouri and Doda 1 each, and Kashmir 1. Ten cases have also been reported this year from outside J&K.

So far in 2025, 11,982 tests have been conducted, yielding 652 positives. In comparison, 10,851 tests were done by the same date in 2024, when 1036 cases had been recorded-indicating a lower positivity rate this year.
On the clinical front, no fresh hospital admissions were reported on Saturday. However, seven patients remain under treatment. Cumulatively, 20 patients have been admitted since January.
