SRINAGAR, Nov 14: Police in Baramulla today carried out a series of coordinated preventive measures across the district to enhance public safety and address activities linked with anti-national elements and bound down 24 such persons.
A police spokesman said that during the course of these operations, 10 persons with verified subversive links were summoned and bound down under preventive law.
“13 locations linked with OGWs were searched, and 13 persons were bound down. Besides, 2 persons booked under UAPA (presently on bail) were examined; 1 was bound down under preventive provisions,” police said.
“Moreover, 7 UAPA-accused (on bail) were identified for bail cancellation, and 2 related cases were submitted to the court. 24 CASOs were conducted in sensitive areas to strengthen area domination and surveillance. 266 vehicles were checked at various points to monitor movement and verify credentials. 4 persons linked with E&IMCO-related activities were examined for compliance with guidelines.”
Police said that these measures were aimed at preventing potential threats, ensuring adherence to law, and maintaining an atmosphere of peace across the district.
