UDHAMPUR, June 19: Foiling an attempt of bovine smuggling, police today rescued 23 animals and arrested the accused person.
Acting on reliable information, a Police Party from PP Tikri, laid a surprise naka on the National Highway and intercepted a person who was taking 23 bovine animals to Srinagar on foot without legal permission.
Police rescued the animals and arrested the person, who was identified as Abdul Rashid of Gajansoo Jammu. In this connection, a case FIR number 90/16 under Section 188/RPC 3 PCA Act has been registered.
