UDHAMPUR, Nov 9: Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling by intercepting cattle loaded Canter at Tikri and also arrested driver of the vehicle.
The Canter, bearing registration number HR55X- 8549 was chased by Police party, headed by Incharge Police Post Tikri after the driver tried to break the Naka. During checking, 23 bovine animals were found loaded in said vehicle.
Police rescued the animals and arrested the accused driver, identified as Arshad Ali , son of Mohd Liaqat of Saharanpur, UP.
Police also seized the vehicle and registered a case FIR number 180/2020, under section 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act in this connection at Rehmbal Police Station.
