UDHAMPUR, Mar 25: Udhampur Police rescued 22 bovines and arrested two accused persons in separate incidents under the jurisdiction of Police Station Majalta.
A police naka party at Khoon was conducting routine checking when a dumper vehicle bearing registration number JK19A-2576, coming from the Ramkot area, was stopped for checking.
During inspection, the vehicle was found loaded with 10 bovines which were being transported in a highly cruel and inhumane manner without any valid permission.
Police rescued all the animals and arrested the driver, identified as Javid Ahmed, son of Abdul Subhan of Bathoie Sar, District Reasi. Accordingly, FIR No. 37/2026 U/S 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Majalta.
In another incident, a police naka party at Battal (Majalta) intercepted another dumper vehicle bearing registration number JK19A-2692, coming from the Ramkot area, during routine checking.
Upon checking, the vehicle was found loaded with 12 bovines being smuggled in a highly cruel and inhumane manner.
The accused driver, Anzar Hussain son of Nazeer Ahmed of Sainik Colony, Jammu was arrested on the spot and all the animals were rescued. A case FIR No. 38/2026 U/S 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Majalta.
