21 bovines seized, 4 smugglers held

RAJOURI, July 20: The Police seized 21 bovine animals foiling three smuggling bids in Rajouri district today.
Official sources said that a team from Manjakote headed by SHO, Pankaj Sharma seized a Tata Mobile vehicle with registration No. JK02AM/ 8406 and arrested driver Saraj Din, son of Abdul Amin, resident of Siot and two animals were rescued from the vehicle.
Another police team headed by SI Ajaz Mirza, Incharge Police Post, Teryath foiled a bovine smuggling bid at Gai Bass and rescued six bovines arresting Mohammad Akram alias Kagh, son of Maunir Hussain, resident of Sangar in Reasi.
This Police team also arrested two smugglers Shokat Ali, son of Noor Hussain and Mohammad Iqbal, son of Mohammad Ismail, residents of Draman Targain and seized 13 bovines from their possession. Police said to have registered separate FIRs in all the cases.
