RAMBAN, June 28: Ukhral police foiled bovine smuggling bid, rescued 21 milch animals and arrested a smuggler.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Ukhral police post laid a naka at Jallato Galli and intercepted a person carrying bovines.
During questioning, the person failed to give satisfactory reply and was arrested. From his possession, police rescued 21 bovine animals, which he was smuggling to Valley on foot.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at police station Ramsoo and investigation started.
Police team led by incharge police post Ukhral PSI Rohit Bhagat made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Mohammad Rafiq and SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
