UDHAMPUR, Mar 20: Udhampur Police foiled four separate attempts of bovine smuggling and rescued 21 bovines.
Acting on reliable information, Police rescued four bovines from a vehicle (JK21H-3068). Driver of the vehicle managed to flee while FIR No. 86/2026 U/S 223(a) BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered in this connection.
Four more bovines were rescued from vehicle JK19A-1834. FIR No. 87/2026 U/S 223(a) BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered.
Another vehicle (JK21B-1746) was found carrying four bovines without valid permission. Police rescued the bovines and registered FIR No. 88/2026 U/S 223(a) BNS, 11 PCA Act in this regard.
One Nisar Ahmed, son of Gulam Qadir of Rakhibra, Tehsil Shangus, District Anantnag, was apprehended at Naka Roun Domail while transporting 09 bovines in a cruel manner in vehicle (JK19-5903) without permission.
Police rescued the animals and arrested the accused driver. FIR No. 89/2026 U/S 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered.
