UDHAMPUR, Sept 30: Rehambal Police seized a modified oil tanker, which was being used for smuggling bovine animals to Kashmir Valley.
Police also rescued 20 bovines, which were concealed in the tanker even as driver of vehicle managed to flee.

The tanker, bearing registration number JK03B-8711, was intercepted by a Police party, at Rehambal during routine checking of the vehicle . Sensing trouble, driver of the tanker fled from the spot leaving vehicle on the road.
During through checking, it was established that the oil tanker was modified and on opening it, 20 bovines were found concealed inside.
Police rescued all the bovines and seized the tanker besides registering a case in this connection at Rehambal Police Station.
