POONCH, Oct 31: In a major action against illegal transportation of bovine animals, District Police Poonch today rescued eight bovine animals and seized two vehicles involved in the illegal act.
Reports said during naka on Bandi Chechian road near Gurudwara Nangali and Noona Bandi, the police intercepted two Tata Mobile vehicles bearing registration numbers JK12-6029 and JK12B-0875. On checking both vehicles were found loaded with 8 bovine animals (buffaloes and calves) being transported without valid permission.
The vehicles were being driven by Idress Khan, son of Mohd Sayed Khan, hailing from Chandak and Khalid Rashid, son of Mohd Rashid from Saral, respectively. Both drivers were detained on the spot and cognizance has been taken under relevant provisions of law.
