KATHUA, May 27: The Forest Department staff seized two trucks loaded with illegal timber and firewood at Lakhanpur last night.
Official sources said that in its continuous drive against the illegal smuggling of firewood/ timber across Kathua border, two trucks bearing registration No. JK18D-1908 and PB08DS-2392 were seized at Lakhanpur by the staff of Anti-Polythene Check Post, Lakhanpur during intervening night of May 26 and 27.
The seizure was made under the supervision of Range Officer APCP, Lakhanpur, Sanjeev Singh, under the supervision of Dr Rajan Singh, DFO Kathua. The cases have been registered at Range Offices Anti-Polythene Check Post, Lakhanpur in this connection.
