2 truckers, 2 brothers arrested with poppy straw, heroin

JAMMU, July 21: Police arrested two truckers and two brothers along with poppy straw and heroin.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Jhajjar Kotli Police Station led by SHO Inspector Rajesh Khajuria under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma, SP Rural Jammu Suram Singh and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil laid a naka and intercepted two trucks bearing registration numbers UK06CA-2446 and UK06CA-4887 at Suketar.
During checking of trucks, police team recovered 240 kilograms of poppy straw and arrested the drivers of the vehicles.
The arrested persons were identified as Pappu Massih, son of Yusuf Massih of Bilaspur UP and Virender Singh, son of Gurdeep Singh of Bilaspur UP.
Cases under FIR Numbers 130/2020 and 131/2020 under section 8/15/25 NDPS Act have been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Peer Mitha Police Station laid a naka near DC Office crossing and intercepted a car bearing registration number JK19-6500.
During checking, police team recovered 10 grams heroin from the possession of two brothers traveling in the car and arrested them.
The arrested persons were identified as Shohib Sadiq Wani (31) and Hamid Sadiq Wani (24), sons of Mohammad Sadiq Wani of Thatharka Tehsil Gool District Ramban.
A case under FIR Number 43/2020 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Peer Mitha and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and others persons involved in this illegal trade.
Police team led by SHO Peer Mitha Inspector Nayat Ali made the arrest under the supervision of DySP City Satish Kumar, SP City PD Nitya and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
