2 suspected criminals held

RAJOURI, Apr 1: Acting on specific inputs received from Counter Intelligence Jammu, Rajouri Police, in a joint operation, successfully apprehended two suspected criminals, thereby foiling a potential major crime in the district.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Avinash, son of Roop Lal, resident of Rajpura Nadala, and Rahul Kumar, son of Ramesh Chand, resident of Vijaypur. Both accused had reportedly arrived in Rajouri with the intention of carrying out a serious criminal act, including a possible murder. However, timely action by the police led to their arrest before they could execute their plan.
In this regard, police have registered an FIR and initiated a formal investigation into the matter. Both accused are currently in police custody and are being thoroughly interrogated.
During preliminary investigation, it has also come to light that they were in contact with another associate of criminal background, involved in multiple FIRs across different police stations, who belongs to the Nerojal area of Thanamandi tehsil.
Rajouri Police have launched an active manhunt to apprehend the absconding associate, and further investigation is underway.
