2 structures raised on Forest land dismantled

NOWSHERA, May 25: The Forest Department team assisted by Ist Class Magistrate and police today smashed two structures raised on Forest land in Nowshera area of district Reasi today.
In continuation of the ongoing drive against encroachment, a team of Forest officials on the direction of DFO Nowshera, Dr Arshdeep Singh, dismantled two structures raised on Forest land in Nowshera Forest Division.
These structures had been raised  in compartment No. 107/N falling near village Rajpur.  A team led by  Range Officer,  Sudesh Kumar  and accompanied by Magistrate Ghulam Hussain and local police dismantled the temporary structure raised by Abdul son of  Mohd Din raised on the Forest land.
In yet another operation, a team led by Block Officer, Nowshera dismantled one under construction Tin structure in Compartment No. 85/N near Lam area of  Nowshera Range. The encroachers tried to resist the eviction proceedings but their attempt was foiled by  police and Forest officials in joint operation.
Both the operations were coordinated at circle level by the Conservator of Forests, West Circle, Rajouri, Sameer Bharti. A warning has also been issued by the Forest department to the persons involved against any such attempt.   DFO  Nowshera has ordered the fencing of retrieved area to prevent re-encroachment in future.
