2 soldiers killed, 2 security personnel injured in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Two soldiers were killed and as many security force personnel wounded injured in overnight attack by militants in the Kashmir valley.
Official sources said here today a patrol party of Rashtriya Rifles (RR) was attacked in the woods at Lolab in the frontier district of Kupwara this morning.
A soldier identified as Govind Singh was critically wounded in the attack, and died before he could reach hospital.
A massive hunt has been launched to nab the militants after reinforcement was rushed from nearby camp.
Official sources said an Army Havaldar Yam Bhadur was admitted to hospital with bullet wounds.
He was reportedly fired upon by militants in Uri sector.
The soldier died in the hospital, they said, adding that police have registered a case.
Two state police personnel were injured when militants hurled a hand grenade towards their vehicle at Narbal on Srinagar-Baramulla road last night. The injured were hospitalised, they said. The militants later managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
