POONCH, Dec 5: Property worth lakhs was destroyed in a major fire incident in a shoe store and readymade garments shop under mysterious circumstances near Girls Higher Secondary School, main market in Mendhar town last night.
The fire brigade reached the spot as soon as the news of the fire broke out, where with the help of locals people, the fire was brought under control after a hard struggle but by then everything had burnt to ashes. Click here to watch video
According to the information, the reason for the fire is not yet clear, but Ashok Kumar, the owner of the shoe shop, said that he suspects that it seems to be some foul play. He said he always turns off on main switch. He demanded proper investigation into the matter.
There were goods worth lakhs in the shoe shop and readymade garments shop which was alsao completely burnt to ashes.
The Police reached the spot where they took stock of situation. The owner lodged a complaint with Mendhar Police Station.
