RAJOURI, Nov 24: Two shops were totally damaged in major fire incident at Shahdara Sharief in Thannmanadi Tehsil of district Rajouri tonight.
Official sources said that incident took place late this evening. The readymade garments’ shop of Nizam, son of Mohd Shabir, resident of Shahdara and sweet shop of Farkun, son of Mohd Sultan, resident of Bijnour in UP, caught fire and both the shops were reduced to ashes before the Fire and Emergency Services vehicle arrived there on the spot. The Firemen, however, contained the fire and saved other adjoining shops.
The locals of the area also tried to douse the fire but failed in their efforts as huge flames were coming out of garments shop. The traders believed that short-circuit could be the reason behind the fire incident. The loss of property was being ascertained by the owners. The police registered a case in this connection and started investigation.
