2 Scorpio vehicles loaded with Khairwood seized

JAMMU, Jan 15: The Jammu Range team of the J&K Forest Department, under the supervision of Anurag Arya, Divisional Forest Officer, Jammu, seized two vehicles loaded with smuggled Khairwood.
Official sources said that the Forest team intercepted and confiscated two Mahindra Scorpio vehicles bearing Registration Numbers JK02AD-0333 and JK02AF-0159. These vehicles were discovered to be transporting significant quantities of illegally managed Khairwood billets, a commodity of considerable market value.
The confiscation proceedings for the seized vehicles and the illicit timber have been initiated in accordance with the pertinent sections of the Indian Forest Act. The execution of this operation was led by a dedicated team, led by Kailash Choudhary, Range Forest Officer, Jammu, Vikram Singh, Block Officer Manawar, and other diligent Forest officials.
