2 robbers arrested, stolen cash recovered

JAMMU, Aug 14: Channi Himmat police worked out a robbery case with the arrest of two persons along with stolen cash.
As per police sources, on July 30 this year, a complaint was lodged by Rohit Abrol, son of Satpal Abrol of Green Belt Park, Gandhi Nagar with Police Station Channi Himmat stating that his load carrier bearing registration number JKO2AC-3457 which was being driven by Mohammad Kabir was on its way from Bari Brahmana to Sanjay Nagar workshop alongwith cash worth Rs 6,67,800. While on way, a person namely Rakesh Kumar, ex-employee of the complainant called the driver through cell phone and asked him (driver) to come at Sainik Colony near Enfield Showroom and when the driver reached there, Rakesh Kumar asked him to come inside the showroom.
The driver entered in the showroom and in the meantime Rakesh Kumar along with his associate took away the cash from load carrier and fled away from spot.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 74/18 under Section 379 RPC was registered at Police Station Channi Himmat and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, many teams were deputed in different locations and raids were conducted in suspected places to trace the culprits.
With the strenuous efforts, a team from Channi Himmat Police Station arrested the accused along with his associate.
The arrested persons have been identified as Rakesh Kumar, son of Jaini of Uttar Pradesh and Ghara Ram, son of Satpal of Laxmanpur, Phallian Mandal, Jammu.
During questioning, they revealed their involvement in said theft case and on their disclosure stolen cash worth Rs 6,67,800 was recovered.
Police team led by SHO Channi Himmat Inspector Mohammad Aslam and assisted by Incharge Sainik Colony Police Post SI JP Singh made the arrest under the supervision of Vipan Chandran, SDPO East, Vinay Kumar, Incharge SP South and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
