POONCH, Aug 5: Two villagers were injured when they were attacked by a bear near their house in Loran area of district Poonch today.
Official sources said that the both are relatives and they were coming out of the house, when a bear suddenly attacked and left them injured.
Both were taken to Primary Health Centre, Loran. One of them was having minor injury on right arm, another was having severe injuries and fracture.
After providing preliminary treatment, they were later shifted to Sub District Hospital Mandi and then referred to District Hospital, Poonch.
Injured were identified as Mohd Rafi Mir (32), son of Qamar Din Mir and Mohd Saleem (24), son of Gulla Mir, residents of Loran area.
Locals have blamed that Wild Life Department is not playing pro-active role in saving the lives of people from wild animals.
