2 nabbed with 7 gms heroin

RAJOURI, Apr 4: The police arrested two persons and recovered some quantity of heroin from their possession in Sunderbani area today.
Reports said in a prompt action against drug trafficking, a team of Police Station Sunderbani led by SHO, Inspector Rajiv Sharma recovered a heroin-like narcotic substance from two persons during routine naka at ITI Naka, Sunderbani. During the checking, a Tempo Traveller bearing registration number JK11G-5817, which was on its way from Jammu to Rajouri, was stopped for inspection. Upon checking, two passengers were found behaving suspiciously. Acting swiftly, the police conducted their personal search, which led to the recovery of approximately 07 grams of heroin from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Qadeer Ahmed, son of Mohd Bashir, resident of Kotranka, and Mohd Razaq, son of Ghulam Din, resident of Draj, in District Rajouri.
A case FIR No. 22/2026 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sunderbani in this connection. Further investigation is underway.
District Police Rajouri has reiterated its commitment to eliminating drug menace from the region and appealed to the public to cooperate with police in curbing such illegal activities.
