SAMBA, Oct 27: Two live mortar shells were recovered by local police in village Chalyari in Samba district today.
After coming to know that two live mortar shells were lying at two different places in the village, a bomb disposal squad of the police along with team of local police rushed to the spot and took both the shells in the custody.
Police said that one shell was found in the village near the residence of Malla Ram , Son of Tara Chand and another was found in the filed of Darshan Ram son of Ghian Chand. Both the mortar shells were defused later by the bomb disposal squad, police said.
It said the mortar shells have been fired from across the border by Pak forces during the shelling.
