UDHAMPUR, June 28: In a tragic incident, two brothers in their early teens, drowned while taking bath in Pinther Nallah at Panchari, here today.
Identity of the drowned boys was established as Bantu Ram (15) and his brother Ganesh Kumar, both sons of Ramnath, resident of village Chulna, Panchyat Suman.
They were taking bath in the nallah along with another friends around 3:45 PM when one brother slipped into deep water and the other also drowned in attempt to rescue the former.
On being informed, local people rushed to the spot and immediately called the Police also. SHO Panchari Parshotam Kumar lunched a search operation with the help of locals and both the bodies were fished out around 7:30 pm. Later the bodies were shifted to PHC Panchari for postmortem and other legal formalities.
Villager said that both the brothers had left home in the morning for grazing the cattle. Panchari Police has registered the case and started an investigation.
