KATHUA, Aug 30: Two persons were killed in two separate road accidents in Kathua district today.
According to police a labourer died after the tractor with which he was working for loading and unloading of material turned turtle at village Kanda in Mahanpur area of Basholi tehsil today.
The labourer was shifted to Basholi Hospital for treatment but he succumbed to his injuries in the way.
He has been identified as Naresh Singh, S/o Sher Singh. The driver of the tractor fled after accident. The Basholi police has registered a case under Section 279/304.
In another accident a pedestrian was killed after he was hit by a maruti car near district Hospital Kathua today.
He has been identified as Preetam Kumar 55, S/O Lal Singh of Basholi.
Preetam was on way to DH Kathua to see about one of his relative who was admitted in the Hospital. While he was crossing the National Highway a car from Jammu which was on its way to Pathankot hit him resulting into his instant death. The driver of the car Dr Sahil was also injured in the accident and he has been admitted in DH Kathua for treatment. The Kathua Police has registered a case under Section 279/304.
