2 killed, 4 injured in accidents

KATHUA, Nov 9: Two persons died while four others were injured in two separate road accidents in Kathua district today.
According to police a motorcyclist died on spot after his two wheeler hit a scooty coming from opposite direction near Ravi Canal on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway at Hatli More Kathua.
The deceased has been identified as Parveen Sing, 36, S/O Parkash Singh of Janglot. Parveen was returning towards his home on his bike from Khorte village this afternoon as he was in high speed, he could not control his bike after reaching near Ravi canal to take the road for Janglot. He hit a scooty which was coming from opposite direction. The lady on scooty who was identified as Veena Kumari, 30, was also seriously injured.
The Hatli More Police reached the spot and shifted the dead as well as injured to D H Kathua. The body of Parveen was later handed over to family members after postmortem while Veena Kumari is undergoing treatment at D H Kathua.
The Hatli More Police has registered a case under Section 304.
In another incident a lady was hit by a NCC Gypsy at Kishenpur while she was crossing the road.
She has been identified as Puran Devi. Police said the Gypsy driver tried to save the woman but he failed to control the vehicle with the result the Gypsy rolled down and it took two three jumps resulting into the death of the woman and injury to three inmates of Gypsy including the driver.
The dead body of the lady was shifted to SDH Hiranagar where after the postmortem it was handed over to the family for last rites.
The three injured persons were also admitted into SDH Hiranagar for treatment. The Rajbagh Police Station has registered a case under relevant sections of law in this regard.
