JAMMU, June 7: Two persons were killed while three others were injured in road accidents here today.
As per police sources, a man was killed on the spot when his motorcycle was hit by a dumper on Bale-Da-Bagh road here today.
The deceased was identified as Shammi Kumar, son of Ramesh Kumar of Kote Garhi Akhnoor.
After completing medical and legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
The driver of the dumper identified as Darshan Lal, son of Amar Nath of Barda Kalan Akhnoor has been arrested.
Meanwhile, a man was killed while three others were injured when the van they were travelling in was hit by bus near Kishanpur area of Jindrah.
The deceased was identified as Nazir Ahmed, son of Ghulam Rasool of Kanyala Dansal, while the injured were identified as Riyaz Jaan, wife of Mohammad Ashraf and her two daughters Naima and Mehnaj.
The body of the deceased has been shifted to mortuary of GMCH Jammu for post-mortem.
Akhnoor and Manwal Police have taken cognizance in this regard.
