Srinagar, July 6: The police today said to have arrested a contractor as well as a driver for illegal possession of cement bags meant for the use of the Border Road Organization (BRO) in Ganderbal district.
Officials said that a team headed by SDPO Kangan and SHO Gund arrested a contractor who has been identified as Ishtiyaq Ahmad son of Abdul Ahad R/O Fraw Haknar area of Gund and recovered over 200 bags of cement from his illegal possession.
As per details, around 200 cement bags—meant for the BRO’s use—were recovered from his possession. In this regard, a tipper was seized as well.
The driver of the seized vehicle has been identified as Altaf Ahmad Kumar son Mohammad Ramzan, R/O Fraw Gund who also has been arrested.
Police have registered a case in this regard and further investigation taken up.
