2 drug peddlers nabbed with 14 grams heroin

RAJOURI, Apr 13: In a major breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking, a police party from Nowshera led by Station House Officer Insp Arjun Magotra apprehended two suspected drug peddlers and recovered some heroin from their possession.
The incident took place when the suspects were moving on foot from Bareri towards Kulwant Chowk. On noticing the presence of the police party both individuals attempted to flee but the alert police personnel quickly acted and managed to nab them on the spot.
During preliminary questioning the accused revealed their identities as Sahil Sharma alias Sahu. son of Som Nath Sharma, a resident of Dandesar Tehsil Nowshera belonging to the Brahmin community and Ajay Bhardwaj, son of Surjeet Kumar, a resident of Bareri Tehsil Nowshera.
A personal search of the individuals led to the recovery of 8 grams and 6 grams of heroin from Sahil Sharma and Ajay Bhardwaj, respectively. Acting promptly the police registered a case under FIR No. 38/2025 U/S 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Nowshera. Further investigation is going on to trace the source of the recovered narcotics and to explore any possible links to a wider drug distribution network.
