UDHAMPUR, Jan 10: The police arrested two notorious drug-peddlers and recovered some quantity of heroin from their possession in Rehmbal area.
Reports said a police team from Rehanbal during checking near Kali Mata Mandir, intercepted a WagonR bearing registration number JK14C-9728, coming from Phlata side towards Garhi. During checking, two persons were found onboard the vehicle.
On questioning, the driver disclosed his identity as Manik Oberoi, son of Rajeev Oberoi of Garhi, Udhampur, while the passenger disclosed his identity as Sachin Kumar, son of Sham Lal of Rehambal, Udhampur.
During their personal search, a total of 4.23 grams of heroin was recovered from their possession. Both the accused failed to give any satisfactory explanation regarding the recovered substance.
Accordingly, FIR No. 8/2025 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rehambal. The accused persons have been arrested and further investigation into the matter is underway.
