RAJOURI, Dec 25: Rajouri Police arrested two drug peddlers in Chingus area and recovered 22 grams of heroin like narcotic substance from their possession.
The accused were intercepted during routine naka checking by Police Party from Police Post Chingus. On being questioned, they disclosed their identity as Nahid Choudhary son of Mohd Shafi, resident of Ward number 13, Peer Kanju Talwal Rajouri and Mohd Asim, son of Mohd Shafi, resident of Ward number 13, Peer Kanju Talwal Rajouri.
During their personal search, the police party recovered 22 grams of heroin-like narcotic substance from their possession. The accused were operating in the Rajouri area and were passing through Chingus with the intention of selling the drug consignment.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 605/2025 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rajouri. Both accused have been arrested and further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and wider network involved in drug trafficking.
