SAMBA, May 16: Continuing its drive against drug smugglers/peddlers, Samba police has arrested two drug peddlers in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Vijaypur and recovered 17 grams of heroin (chitta) from their possession.
Police said its team headed by SHO PS Vijaypur under the overall supervision of SSP Samba Virinder Manhas during vehicle checking at Naka AIIMS, intercepted a scooty bearing Registration Number JK02CP-3802 for its checking. During checking, 17 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of the two persons riding on the scooty.
The drug peddlers identified as Ankit Bhat, son of Chaman Lal Bhat of Roopnagar Jammu and Manoj Kumar Bhat, son of Pridiman Krishan Bhat of Subash Nagar Rehari Jammu have been arrested and contraband item along with scooty have also been seized.
A case FIR No.51/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Vijaypur and investigation started.
