SRINAGAR, Feb 9: Srinagar Police today arrested two drug peddlers, recovering “substantial quantity” of narcotics from their possession. Authorities said that a team of Police Station Nishat at a checkpoint established at Pahloo Brein, intercepted 2 suspicious persons who on seeing the police party tried to flee from the spot “but were apprehended tactfully.”
During the search, police said, a substantial quantity of narcotics was recovered from their possession.
As per police, they have been identified as Nadeem Qadir Chopan, son of Ghulam Qadir Chopan and Ahmad Badri, son of Mohammad Ismail Reshi, both residents of Pahloo Brein.
Both accused persons have been arrested and a case vide FIR No. 08/2025 under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Nishat and further investigation has been initiated, police said.
