SAMBA, Aug 7: Continuing its drive against the menace of drugs, District Police Samba arrested two drug peddlers and recovered about 22.5 gms of heroin from their possession in the jurisdiction of Police Station, (PS) Vijaypur.
Acting on reliable information a police party of Police Station, Vijaypur, while performing patrolling duty intercepted two persons moving under suspicious circumstances on the link road Pekheri near Hotel 17-Miles, Vijaypur, today.
During their frisking approximately 22.5 grams of heroin (Chitta) was recovered from their possession. The accused persons were identified as Layakit Ali, son of Sardar Ali of Salmeri, Vijaypur and Hasham Ali son of Mohammad Latif of Pekheri, Vijaypur. They have been arrested on the spot and contraband item was also seized.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 127/2021 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Vijaypur and investigation started.
