UDHAMPUR, Oct 16: Police arrested two drug peddlers in Majalta and recovered 10.69 grams of heroin from their possession.
The accused was riding a scooty bearing registration number JK14J-5544, which was on way from Manwal and intercepted at Battal.
During personal search of the scooty rider, identified as Mohd Sharif, son of Mirza Khan of Dhamma, Majalta, 5.69 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession.
Following this, Police arrested the accused and seized his scooty besides registering a case FIR No. 84/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act at Police Station Majalta.
In another instance, during patrolling near Majalta Morh, one person coming towards Majalta on foot was stopped by the naka party. The person identified himself as Gafoor Ali son of Mohd Sadiq of Damma, Tehsil Majalta, District Udhampur.
During his personal search, 5 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession. Accordingly, he was arrested and a case FIR No. 85/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Majalta.
