KATRA, Dec 17: Police today arrested two notorious drug peddlers from holy town Katra and recovered eight grams of heroin from their possession.
Arrested drug peddlers were identified as Rahul Verma, son of Deshraj, resident of Paroh, Tehsil Katra and Balbir Kumar son of Parkash Chand of Parah, Tehsil Katra.
They were apprehended during routine checking and frisking by Police party of Police Check Post Nomain, led by SHO Katra Insp Nishant Gupta under the supervision of SP Katra Amit Bhasin.
A case FIR number 344/2022, under section 8/21/22 NDPS Acts has been registered in this connection at the Police Station Katra and investigation initiated to unearth forward and backward linkages.
While sharing the details, SSP Reasi Amit Gupta said that Reasi Police was committed to eradicate the menace of drug abuse and illicit liquor smuggling from the area and people from all sections of the society should come forward and join hands with Police to strengthen anti-narcotics drive.
