UDHAMPUR, Sept 17: Police today apprehended two drug peddlers and seized 20 kg poppy straw from their possession.
The consignment was being smuggled in a truck (PB11BA-5948), which was intercepted by a Police party, led by SHO Udhampur Chaman Gorka under the supervision of Sahil Mahajan, DySP Hqrs Udhampur during naka at Jakhani Naka Point.
The accused driver namely Lakhvinder Singh, son of Chota Singh of Sangoor, Punjab along with his associate namely Taj Mohd son of Roshan Khan of Ludhiana, Punjab were arrested on the spot and involved vehicle was also seized.
A Case FIR Number 354/2021 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Udhampur.
